The books, the doc, the blogs, yadayadayada all say to give solids a try in between 4 and 6 months. We had Cece's 4 month check up yesterday. After seeing her great development results we headed to the store to get cereal and a spoon. We had our first "bites" this morning. The cereal went in. The cereal came out. The cereal went in. The cereal came out. There may have even been a swallow here and there. The look on Cece's face may have had more to do with the big black thing that flashes and clicks than the cereal itself. A fine first outing and of course an image never to be forgotten.

Birthing Class Babies
Back in September, Matt and I attended a weekend long Lamaze workshop. We had the good fortune of joining 3 terrific couples who just happened to have due dates within days of us.
This is the group at 8 months along:
Left to right are Benjamin & Corrine, Odoulia & Steve, and on our other side are Heather & Chris. We kept in touch and after the babies were born the moms started getting together every Monday. We've included the daddies twice. Last night at our house was one of those occasions. The fellas went out back to do manly things like drink beer and burn stuff in the fire. We all stayed inside and let the babies play, coo, gurgle and chatter.
Up top are Cece and Shay and below are Sophia and Caitlyn.
You can probably figure out who belongs to who!
Two fun bits of trivia: Steve is from Holliston which is the small town outside of Boston where we lived and the workshop was previoulsy attended by Eddie Vedder and his wife who consequently I have seen at the grocery store waiting at the deli just like everyone else ... except she looked like the gorgeous wife of a rock star.

Morning Glory
Cece has settled into routine making life a little easier for all of us. She sleeps through the night waking up around 6:00. Then, Cece gets back in bed with me for what has become her longest nap of the day ... sometimes not stirring again until 10:00 or 11:00. Extra sleep and a snuggly baby girl. Glorious!
